OP SHOP BUZZ – Janet Goud
Here we go again! I’m writing to you on the weekend of the snap lockdown.
As you see, we in the Op Shop, were ready and waiting for it! Due to the crowded nature of our small shop, and its fame attracting people from near and wide, we have been keeping to the Covid guidelines by still enforcing mask wearing. We realise it is a pain to wear a mask on the warmer summer
days, but to keep our older volunteers and the community safe, we have stuck to this rule – as have other businesses in town
Ladies take note of how beautifully the mask enhances your eyes, as seen above by our two lovely Op Shop helpers.
We would like to thank the community for its heartfelt response to our request for more goods to recycle. Our back room was full to overflowing on many mornings when we arrived and a big day of sorting and pricing put many desirable items out, to be snapped up by holiday makers, and local customers. We are very pleased to announce that, although the shop is not yet open every day, all day, due to lack of staff, our takings are back to normal for this time of year.
Exciting times are to come this year to celebrate the 50th year of the Lorne Op Shop. Plans are afoot for several Gala happenings.
I am beginning a little selection each month which I am calling
“Treasures of the Op Shop”. These “ treasures” may or may not be hugely valuable monetarily, but will be special in some way. Stay safe.
